If you were getting a new CT built in this market, it would be $500.00 deposit and the balance on pick-up of a finished product.

The days of progress payments is long gone, as so is the CT builder in too many cases now.
Agree, if you followed my CT purchase posts since late last year, SWMBO was very much decided on a Vacation CT, except that Dave convinced us (and rightfully so), that a Trackabout was more in line with what we needed. My thoughts are very much with Theo and Pauline, but this was always our concern as our original first choice was a Jimboomba CT.  Not sure that Dave and Kym from TB understood my reluctance to hand over cash, but how lucky am I that Dave found me and sold me one of His.  The week we picked our TB up (and handed over the $$'s) was the week that Vacation CT's went into receivership............

We contacted Pauline and Theo two weeks ago, to ask them if they could make us a Thermal Fly (as we are camping over Christmas) and to ask if they were still making their fridge slides. They got back to us to say that they were still doing canvas work and would also be able to do the fridge slide for us. They are aware they could have closed up shop completely but recognise they had VC owners who were still wanting things done to their CT's. We too could have purchased from 1 of 4 CT companies that we were considering and are still very happy with our choice to buy a VC CT. The fact that they are there for their previous customers is testimony to what good, honest people they are.

Never any doubt about how genuine and honest Theo and Pauline are. Great to hear they're still around the industry.

What method of contact did you use? Their personal mobiles? Or do they have a web page?

CampAround- We had been in contact with Pauline and Theo previously through their email address: sales@vacationcampers.com.au and phone calls. They will respond if you email them using the addresses listed on their website.

Ok thanks for that. Was just curious in case I wanted to buy any more of their fancy bits and pieces. I like the awning tarp extension which can be used as an overnight awning.

Well, we picked up our tropical roof on the weekend from Pauline and Theo, in preparation for our 2 week trip to Flat Rock. They have a great set up and are currently doing all canvas work and some trailer work i.e. their fridge slides etc. We have told them about some of the other things we would like to have made and they are very happy to accommodate. They are such great people and deserve any work we can put their way. Maybe one day they can get back into doing what they do best.......making awesome CT's!
