Interesting concept for non-payment for a business

This should happen more often I think .
The amount of people that do not pay or drag out payment in a business is shocking .

Couple of well known names on there.

My 2 brothers have just lost their 17yo business due to bad debtors.........they have been done over for over $200,000 in the last 2 years with builders going bankrupt.......how does a 2 man business absorb that sort of debt and stay afloat.

They have seriously looked at the bikie option too

I'm not sure it's good form to put a company on there for a couple hundred dollars, I'm guessing there is two sides to that story.

Not a virus, not a re-install, not a format, not an issue since 2011..once you go mac you never go back

I'd say that would depend on that companies attitude towards you when you were trying to get your few hundred $$ back..

Yep, there are 2 sides to every story.

The 16k one must have been a big customer? Even if they were generous and extended credit to 60 or even 90 days before stopping credit, that customer must have been quite large.

It's a lot of money to have to soak up :(

big debts from big buyers........they buy big and pay regular, you trade with them for a while and take it for granted, then all of the sudden they dont pay 1 month, you think aaaaaah its cool, they always pay its just a glitch, you ring, they make promises, blame the accounts chick, you still need their business they are a big customer, 60days hits and still no pay they are another month into you and you suddenly realise you have been screwed and its too late

And even if it is for just a "few hundred dollars". So what!! Money is money, and if it another business/customer can't afford or doesnt want to pay their bill of a "few hundred" then I reckon that is even worse then the big accounts.  Just pay your fricking bill!!  If you have an issue with it, sort it out straight away, it only takes a phone call.  Sorry not having a go at anyone, just pisses me off when people don't pay me. I regularly have to chase people for small amounts of outstanding money, and nine times out of ten, it is the people that you know have it, that you are chasing.

It's a fantastic idea Rockman I agree however I think these concepts need to work both ways.. John Vezos, the previous owner of Trackabout went out with a bang not only owing Couplemate money but many others which goes against our grain however no more on this topic...   :police:

We were made aware that our name was on their website and after making many calls demanding to have our $234.80 order delivered or to remove our name from their website if they could not fill our order. Our order finally arrived in August this year (10 months later) and was paid for immediately upon delivery. We have since been in contact with Couplemate still with no luck, so this mater is now in the hands of our solicitor..

Not to mention during this this scenario we lent Couplemate stock to fill their customers orders due to low stock levels.... No thanks to us mentioned here though...  :-[

We would have thought after lending Couplemate stock back for an order he couldn't cover for another customer ( a good Aussie thing to do in business) that we at least would have heard back from them after the first few calls but no..

After numerous efforts we have given up on dealing with such unreliable business.. Not meaning to gripe but this may give you an idea of how accurate this name & shame concept actually is..

He can't get punitive damages for non payment.  Only what is owed.
