Need gas bottle advice
« on: September 16, 2013, 04:52:13 PM »
I have just bought a Hot Ozi BBQ. To set it up you need to have the LPG outlet in the vertical position, not the horizontal like 99% of bottles. Can this be adjusted at home by switching the outlet and the tap or do u need a special adapter to get a vertical outlet?

Why not hit up the supplier for the correct fitting perhaps.

I can't remember ever seeing an upright fitting.
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

If you're using a standard POL outlet gas bottle, you need one of these.

BBQ galore would sell them

You can pick up an elbow from a gas outlet.

What a PITA that design is, is it a POL fitting or Primus/ 5/8th type?

Or buy a gas bottle with the vertical fitting already there. See pic below.
I have 2 of these in 3.7kg size and you can swap these at most garages etc.

I have had a hot ozi for yrs and like the photo above , have had this also for yrs.....

Even though I don't use the plastic stabiliser legs, I do reckon the 4kg bottle is a lot more stable than the smaller ones ( even though the smaller ones have the correct fitting already on them )

Mine has been getting a little "slow" of late, so after stuffing up the jet, I ordered another new one and the thing is going that well, I added  another valve between the bbq and the above fitting to regulate the flow a bit better..
