Possible scam.......Do you think?
« on: September 14, 2013, 06:42:48 AM »
Just having a search this morning for a possible upgrade & these two adds scream scam. The add for the Swan had another 2 adds below it, same pictures, same description, same person(Jennifer) but different emails.
Jennifer sure has a lot of toys.

I found 4 adds of hers without even trying. Only a complete Dumbass would fall for it. In saying that, there are some dumbasses out there.

Where's the "To good to be true button" that was once there so it was easy to report scams.
Whilst I am at it, where has the Advanced search format gone to.......
Or am I blind or just not keeping up with these new web sites.

This isn't anything new.

It was about May last year and some dude was selling a 2 year old Jayco Hawk for 12k in Brisbane.

I sent him an email saying I would pick it up in person that arvo with 12k cash. Could I please have his address.

I never heard back thinking some body else got in before me.

Later that day, same add, different location (Melbourne) and same email address. But this time it belonged to a catholic school.

Apparently he asks for a cash deposit than does a runner.

Not sure about the Expanda but that Swan is definitely a scam, it's been advertised on Gumtree everyday for the last six months or so.  I'm waging a war against the guy, I report it everyday, it get's removed, they upload again the next day.

This is a known scam, it's even been mentioned on here some time ago.

Can't help but wonder what would happen if everyone on this site were to send emails to them about each of the campers etc for sale, asking the usual dumb questions, like an exact quote to deliver it to Exmouth or perhaps a remote lake in WA.
Just torment them with a full inbox.
Even out bid each other with more emails, repeat the things we all get by scammers.

The expanda is definitely a scam, that photo is of the 2006 model, not 2009.  Far too many toys advertised to be legit.

When I was selling my cars I googled any emails that people gave me. If it is a scam it has likely been reported and will show up in a google search.
