Numbering of campsites at Freshwater - Cooloola NP.
« on: August 11, 2013, 09:31:55 PM »
Hello,

Would anyone know how that campsites are numbered at Freshwater in Cooloola National Park?  The map has no numbers on it.  If someone does, can I make a reference point being the top left hand corner, the group site as the start.

As well, are vehicles allowed to be parked near the trailer campsites, that is, are teh sites big enough for a trailer opened and a vehicle without people complaining. The map has a number of designated parking areas and my preference is to have my vehicle near my trailer.  Apologies if this is a bit of a gumby question.

Thanks in advance.

Seanny.

I don't think that they are numbered from memory. There are just clearings off the side of the tracks marked out with bollards.

Most of the sites are big enough to fit trailer and tug without to much problem. Its a pretty laid back camp ground. Most people camp on the beach, I would, the only exception being if you want to get away from strong winds etc.

Map attached, you have probably already referenced it though

It has pretty good coin showers so make sure you take heaps, nearest shops are probably northshore say 30ks south or rainbow, about the same in the opposite direction.

never camped at freshwater but have had plenty of showers......well mainly the girls

petty sure they are not numbered.......most are big enough to tuck your tug in with the camper

never knew there was a group site up the back........

during the cooler windy months i reckon it would be the go, in the summer i reckon it would get a bit hot as you are protected from the breeze

Hello,

Thanks for the responses.  I did not think that there would be a problem, but you never know!!

The toilet and shower requirements mean that the feminine members of the family are not affronted with what I manage with when I am on the Dads' fishing trips on Teerwah.

Cheers,
