EPIC Canberra
« on: July 25, 2013, 01:46:55 PM »
Hi All,

We are heading down to Canberra over the October long weekend. We have heard about EPIC for camping and were wondering if anyone has stayed there, what the amenities are like etc.

EPIC is the Exhibition Park In Canberra. (In case you were wondering  :D)

Any help would be great.

Cheers
Andrew

EPIC is the showground and until I read this post I had no idea you could camp there, other than by special arrangement for events, etc but a quick search shows you are indeed correct http://www.epic.act.gov.au/camping
It would be convenient depending on where in Canberra you plan to spend your time. There are a few other more traditional type campgrounds in the region but all quite a bit out of town.

There's not alot in the way of caravan parks.. oddly enough I reckon the one in Queanbeyan would be the pick of them.

Shame you wouldn't be here for this http://www.rncas.org.au/homeshow/site/index.php on the 25th to 27th October

my FIL always stays out at Eaglehawk, as he can't get his 5th wheeler into most other parks in Canberra. EPIC is pretty crap imho, and I wouldn't camp there unless you were going to stuff that was on there. If you're planning to do floriade and the like, then queanbeyan park is probably be the closest and best choice (fyshick is terrible), but its probably booked out by now, so good luck.
