I see both sides here, social media has become part of lives ..but so has niaivitey .
Kids are bashed, sexually assaulted , die of starvation and generally treated with such dis-regard that it leaves me with little choice but to believe that the human race is an endangered species.
Most species on earth work together or as individuals to guarantee the survival of their young , we on the other hand ... Seem to be making an art form out of abusing ours.
It has happened and will continue to happen the fact you saw it does not matter.. It happened.
When people say "I wish I never saw it" I always respond with "do you mean you wish it never happened" ...big difference.
Good on you for mentioning it ,but all we can do as decent people is to care for and love the children we have and accept that other children won,t have the same life as the one we give our kids.
If anything viewing such abuse brings it out of the shadows , just this week we had issues with our youngest not wanting to eat certain dinner items . I was able to use social media and tech to show him exactly what starving kids look like and how they live each day.
Not to make him feel guilty , but to make him appreciate the life we have. I cannot save every child or person. But I do honour their suffering by not pretending it does not exist.
Maybe try to contextualise it like this, witnessing these thing is hard , but being the victim is even harder.
Kind regards
