I noticed that too, regardless....... it picked up quite a bit of speed in a short distance, the first guy would have had a bit of poo come out  :-[  .

I watched it a few times and couldn't see a strap connected to the ute so NFI why he was facing the other way other than gtfo

Well that at least explains why the camper stayed so straight while sliding backwards down the track and not jack knifing. 

I would have been interesting commentary.  Makes you wonder just what they were trying to do?

My guess would be that he had help pull the down facing 4x4 back on to the road after the down facing 4x4 had slipped of the road. Once straight the wet/slippery conditions allowed the downward facing 4x4 to slip further down the slope towing the Nissan and camp trailer with it.
