Other threads have been when someone has been really excited and happy and just wanted to brag or share being excited about their new CT purchase with other Swaggers only to have negative comments posted. I don't understand how someone would want to rob another Swagger of that (feel good and excited feeling) by posting negatives about their CT. Robbing a Swagger of that feeling is just not nice.
Muzza, I agree 100%. I actually spent a bit of time thinking about this at work yesterday (probably about the same thread you refer too) and I'm disappointed that an excited new member with health problems would be treated in such a way. No one welcomed him and some hit the ground running about their opinions about Chinese campers. The topics of Chinese imported campers and politics bring out the worst in some members and unfortunately it affects the way I feel about Myswag on the whole. Please understand that I know that the majority of members are good helpful people and that this is overall a friendly and tight community, but a few thoughtless people who think their opinions are so important that it's ok to offend others have a negative affect on what is otherwise a great forum.

Are we really reading more into this than there really is? MySwag, like any forum is only a reflection of society and IMO society has become a little precious. Yes, there will be a..eholes who think they are better or think they know everything but this is everywhere in life, not just isolated to here. So, having said this, it is up to you members(not just the mods) to step in a adjust the attitude of the few or report the post that you feel is inappropriate with an explanation why and then us mods can address accordingly. As I said, I think we are becoming a little over sensitive to anyone who may have an opinion when it's not in tune with our own. Remember, we are all entitled to our own opinion but we must respect the opinion of others no matter how much it differs from our own. Mutual respect no matter the differing views. Life would be boring if we where all the same......:-)

I don't think you can call 77 responses in a little over 2 days which are generally agreeing with the sentiment of the original post 'a little precious', I would call it a 'general concensus'.

Don't mean the comments here. I mean when people are making comments about others stuff and taking offence. You say consensus, what about all those that possibly disagree but thought, I won't post as I will get howled down(it's possible). I don't disagree with the sentiments in this thread by any means but everyone is entitle to there opinion, even if it isn't the consensus as you put it.

People who bitch have the loudest voice but are not the consensus. Greenies are a fine example.....:-)

After the fantastic trip we had at the Gulf  and spending $11,000 for a recon motor 3 weeks before the trip plus $550 on tyres on the trip all I can say is get out there and enjoy what ever you have. Who cares what people say. Most of the time they have never been camping.

No one has opinions on your memories of a great trip. That is priceless.

Been resisting commenting on this topic but some people just don't get it, do they.

Just posted about my new DMax ute and get this as a reply:

"The hilux eats them all every day.. Ok $10k more but over the time u will spend that on more repairs etc.."

Says more about them than it does your choice of vehicle.

Really, I know the previous models were same same, but I thought the new ones were like the Ranger/BT50 too.  Just different motor, or completly different beasts?

We're straying way off topic but to answer your questions, except for the chassis I don't think the current model Colorado and the current model DMax share much else.  The Colorado has the Fiat 2.8l diesel whilst the DMax has a 3l Isuzu motor.  They have different gearboxes.  The European Dmax has a twin turbo 2.5l motor just for something different again.  I believe GM and Isuzu will again collaborate on the next model.
