You can pay a membership fee over there and one of the benefits is you get no ads. But for me its just fine viewing for free with the ads on the side of the threads, after a while a bit like the TV you just ignore them as it doesn't affect the content of the forum,a forum that i think is one of the better forums around ,besides Myswag of course. It does amaze me though, the way you can  put the word like "The Bride" in a posting and you get all sorts of dating ads next to the thread you read.
cheers

As you know, some forums can be poison expensive to run with the amount of traffic that goes through the server...

But there was one forum that you paid membership, and the owner phuqt off with the funds never to be seen again... Thus why I say arseholes to paying.

I don't mind ads.. as long as they are not every third post like they are with some forums I used to be on.. down the side is fine by me. One UK car forum I'm on does it very well .. as do most UK forums .. you get to see new product/show dates etc but it doesn't upset the 'flow' of the conversations/posts

No one is holding a gun to your head to visit the site. As mentioned above there is an option to avoid the adds or if you want to visit it at no cost to you then you get adds. I don't have a problem with them and again as mentioned above you tune out from them after a while.

Why don't you post your concern on PP.

A (.org) site is basically a non profit site, where as a (.com) site is or can
be a business or a profit generating site.

;D  Well Zeerosecta, now that you've had your vent and you feel better. You are feeling really positive and supportive of this site - Excellent, why not voluntarily support the site financially, go to the home page and pledge (pay) some cash. Now that's real support.

P.S. Yes - I have put my money where my mouth is.

P.P.S No - I am not an administrator and no association, etc - just appreciate the site.

Just found pradopoint, selected a thread out of the blue, saw two unobtrusive ads out of the ten posts on the page.

Whats the problem  ???

How do you get banned from a forum ?

Depends which forum you are on, some of the other 4wd ones seem to ban when they want. Luckily MySwag is a more rounded and pleasant place of like minded people which has enabled it to stay almost ban free.

As mentioned above a great way to support the forum is to click on the PayPal banner which randomly appears on the header page or purchase some merchandise.

Prado point invariably comes up when doing a search and I find it informative and pretty good. The ads don't bother me but I am not there very often. (Iam not a member ) I do think the owners or whoever are a little "precious " or were. When researching some 4 yrs ago between Paj or Prado. The Paj v Prado thread(s) would get locked on PP yet continue on Pajero forum.

Each forum has its style and you soon work out how to use it, the Paj forum is fry much like here whereas Lcool is very much informative only. Each to there own.
Here for a good time, not a long time!
