I don't think that thing would make going into hard ground much easier, and it look like its one size peg or bust.. Different size/shape pegs wont fit in it.

We use 'His Hand' at our campsite.  Works every time no matter the weather and gets those really stuck ones out better than I could.

Plumbers don't know how to use a hammer, half of them don't know how to use a shovel
His name must be Lightening, didn't strike in the same place twice.
I guess it could be used in caravan parks

Edit;
Seriously, the pegs aren't that big, most of the ground we camp on is like concrete or rocky.
At Penrose Park(Silverton) a couple of years ago, I bent 12mm Y bar in the ground out there.

I also don't think it would be all that good, as mentioned I don't think it would make it any easier on hard ground.

We recently went away for a week and I struck dome really hard ground and struggled with the pegs, I just could not get them in properly, luckily it wasn't windy.
When we got back I went to Bunnings and bought a Ryobi hammer drill and two 4ah batteries along with some long coach bolts. Now it will just be a matter of drilling them in and out :)

While I was at it, I also bought the Ryobi handy vac for the wife and the LED light for sitting at the camp table at night. The good part is they all run off the same batteries and I have the 12v charger to charge them while camping.

I'm also hooked on the Ryobi One + system.
Also bought the handyvac for the wife and looking at the light. Although I wouldnt mind the big xenon torch also.
Hows the 12v charger, any good?
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

I haven't had a chance to use it as yet, we haven't been away long enough. I bought two 4ah batteries so haven't needed to charge them while camping.

As for Ryobi, I think it is a brilliant system and saves having to worry about different batteries. Being able to charge it while out camping is a real bonus, no more flat batteries.
I was also looking at the torch, but decided it would probably chew through the battery. The light is excellent for a bit of light at the table and my son uses it in his tent.

Im not sure how good this will work with hooking onto the rings to hold it down... Unless you use some huge washers on it, specially if it gets windy and they shake around a bit side to side... The head on the bolts isnt very big.. ??? ???

We have used this as a method of rope anchor quite a few times, works a treat. :cup:

How do you stop it pulling off the top of the bolt?
Sounds like a better solution than pegs for hard ground.

How about two chain links, small enough so it won't slip through the head and then connect the rope to the other link via a D shackle?

For real hard ground maybe I should throw the Hilti gun in the camper with a handful of pins and black charges >:D >:D >:D

Where we camp at Xmas it's real sandy. I've been using these for years.  1/2" bent reo, my BIL finds them on domestic building site already bent in a U shape, I think they're ligatures?

I've got about 20 of these cut like so with a sharp point on each end and about 450mm long.  These ones I painted with some old Killrust to make them easier to find.  Never had one pull out, even in massive wind gusts.

I haven't had the need to use them as yet, but this is what I have decided to do with mine...

Some small bits of flat metal, bend them so they look like a U with a flat bottom, put a hole in the middle so the bolt slides through.
For holding down matting or rings, slide the bolt through the hole, so the U is upside down, put the bolt into the ring and fix it to the ground, the upside down U will clamp over the ring. Same for tent and awning ropes, just attach them to the metal U.

I too love the ryobi+1 system.
I have most of it.
I use the fan for camping and in my opinion it is great.
