Lions Game
« on: June 29, 2013, 11:47:50 PM »

Just got home from the Lions v Wallabies at Etihad.

Great last 10 min.  Couple of very nervous kicks from both sides.

Great atmosphere both inside and outside the stadium.

Looking forward to their next tour.........in 2025.

Cheers

For a person that rarely watches Union, that was a VERY boring game..............only time anyone ran the ball was when the Wallabies scored a try !!

Cut the goal score back to one point to encourage more running, instead of that rubbish they dished up..........they may as well only let two blokes on the field.....the goalkickers !!

Messy rucks and even messier scrums !!!  fair dinkum !!

Watched it for 25mins, scrum, kick, lineout, kick, penality kick GOAL...Woo Hoo. Restart & it goeas around again.

Sorry but unless they force placers to run more by reducing the rewards for kicking the ball out [and the inevitable penality kicks] the game will hold no relivance.

All sports have livened up the pace of their games, it is about time union did the same.

I've always wondered why a try conversion is worth less than a penalty shot at goal when both are exactly the same thing: a set shot at kicking an oval shaped ball over and between some metal bars. The situation was even worse when tries were 4 instead of 5. Have to agree, union can be a fantastic game to watch IF the ref leaves his whistle at home, and IF the teams run the ball instead of kicking for touch, and IF the teams play fairly, and IF its not wet, and IF......

Outside of SOO, I haven't watched thugby for years. And based on your description it seems that I'm not missing much if I keep watching CSI , NCIS etc.
