Colman hot water on demand
« on: June 27, 2013, 01:39:20 PM »
I've been to the tips on the forum for these things , maily checking fuse and impeller for the water flow.

I'm afraid mine is still a dud , battery charged , gas connected , turn control knob to any position , Nothing.

Any others idea's would be greatfully recieved as to what else copuld be wrong.

Thanks.

We had similar problem a while back. Checked everything (well, almost everything), nothing worked. Even rang up Coleman, they told me it sounded like the pump. Bought a new pump, not the problem. Finally found that it was the battery. Even though it appeared to be charged when I put a meter across the terminals, under load it dropped right off. Bought a new battery - it worked  :D

Good evening Geoffery. If you are who I think you are, then the unit has two batteries. One is an old one that I left discharged for a while, so while it does charge, it doesn't hold charge for more than two days. The other one was fine when last used, but the battery (and unit) have not been in use for around 2 years.

I don't think it's a battery issue because both the batteries were fine last time we had it out (and it failed) it wax a totally different issue.

The batteries were fine
The pump sucked the water
The unit clicked
The gas wasn't making it through.

Michael is fairly confident it is a blocked has jet, so if anyone has any advice on how to clear that, it is probably worth a go.

Last time we used it, the water was coming through, but it wasn't getting heated, so it's possible you need to add battery to the list of issues now!
