Finally made a choice ( hopefully )
« on: June 10, 2013, 06:33:29 PM »
Hi,
I have finally made a CT choice, I am opting for the Lifestyle Extenda, I was just hoping I could get some last minute advise if anyone has some? Does someone have one? Does anyone not like Lifestyle? This is a big decision, I guess I just need some re assurance before signing on the dotted line.  All dealings I have had with Darren from Lifestyle have been nothing short of awesome, for this reason I have chosen Lifestyle.
For some reason I can't get Customline out of my head, I spent some time with them at the Brisbane show last week and was blown away by their quality, although I was disappointed with their customer service.  They didn't really want to talk to much about price or what they could do on extras etc.
Some last minute advise would be greatly appreciated.
Damian.

I was also the same with Customline and Lifestyle. In the end Lifestyle took it for me as Darren was awesome. The quality of mine is excellent. The canvas is tops, it's so snug when set up and doesn't sag, even a ,ate of mine who has a trackabout tent is impressed. I did find one thing that they missed and that was to properly sicaflex my floor, must have been a one off. I have done a fair few mods to mine as well, have replaced all of the electrical, just upgraded to heavier wire and outlets where I wanted them, installed a 25a 7 stage projecta charger and added 2 optima yellow top batteries. Added a fridge-slide to the walkway which works great. Have added a 12lpm pump and tap as well as Country comfort hot water system. The inner spring mattress was included as a show special and is comfy as but does require a few days airing out. Made led lights throughout. I did go with independant suspension and DO 35 off road hitch.
Go for it it's awesome, and I love mine. Also if ya need a hand with doing any upgrades or madness yourself I'd be glad to lend an ear.

Cheers Billy

It was a big choice for us as well as we initially started with a 7k budget, but we just couldn't find what we wanted n that range and that was going to be tough enough for this trip, also the fact of china built vs Aussie built. In the end the lifestyle ticked the most boxes for us and two young children. The customline is a nice make for sure, but there pricing is not as sharp as compared to Lifestyle.

Thanks Jeff!

Ya we are all pretty stoked to be finally going! A year in the planning, it's gone pretty quick and spent a sh@t load of money, but when the sic is usually camping at the Hilton I'm hoping I've come close. Lol

We were there Saturday.

I am a big fan of the customline campers, they are out of my budget.

I own a lifestyle explorer (imported) we purchased last year. Darren came up out of now where a new me by name and my families too.

We did come home with some plumbing and a Webber baby Q for the camper, and think we may have purchased a house too, but that is another story.

Thumbs up to Lifestyle.

When we went looking for campers we went to lifestyle and within 5 minutes of being in the store we were approached by Ian who unfortunately doesn't work there no more.
He answered all our questions and he even showed us every model they had at the time. Introduced to the boss and he wasn't pushy by any means.

We ended up singing on the dotted line 2 days later on a 360 model Offroad package, we love it. We have been camped at a few places and been approached by other campers who have commented on how nice the camper is.

The wife already wants to upgrade to the walk through model. Yes they are bigger and better but I haven't finished modifying this 1.

I would defiantly recommend a lifestyle.

Make sure you do a search on here and have a good read of the owners' threads on the lifestyle.
We have a lifestyle extenda and quite happy with it.  It's a very well made trailer and tent.  We haven't felt the need for any mods to ours although it would be nice to have a 12v pump/tap I guess.  Sometimes we would like the awning to be a bit bigger so we use a tarp to extend it a bit - this isn't a fault of the lifestyle though, all the trailers have pretty much the same size awning/annex unless you specifically get something oversize made when you order.
Love the tropical roof and the walkway.   Wish there weren't so many poles for the annex but at least it is very solid once up.

Did you end up with the extenda or ?  I have the extenda due to available floor space, the standard 10 ft tent is larger than anything else and fits the 3 camp stretchers nicely for our kids,
