V8 100 series Cruiser
« on: May 29, 2013, 09:48:04 PM »
Picking up our new to us cruiser tomorrow.  2004 v8 manual gxl 180k on the clock already has dual batteries and brake controller. Has a factory alloy bar and ipf lights. Will install UHF and fridge wiring tomorrow evening ready for its first trip to newness this weekend. The dealer has been good enough to put my Micky Thompson mtz on it. Here's hoping its a good truck.

Eddy

Ps  :worthles:

Will get them tomorrow
Looks like another name change will be needed

Yeah can't wait I reckon it will be in exhaust shop next week.  You just can't have a v8 that doesn't sound like one right?   >:D

Snart choice.  And a manual too.  Not a lot of those about.
My alternative to cheap import trailers;

Blimet, all the fuss about a V8 and how the exhaust sounds, must be a city thing.  For me the im[ortant thing about any vehicle is the suspension, 4wd capabilities, and tyre strngth, I guess that must be a bush thing.  I don't care what a vehicle sounds like.
Either way, I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from your new 100 series.

Picked her up late today drives really nice nd goes oh so well.  Rewired rear cigarette plug for fridge and found auxiliary deep cycle battery to only have 3.8v charging well at 14.02 volts.  My battery guy will have a new one here in the morning so all good.  No time to wire UHF so looks like a handheld for the weekend.  But pretty happy with her so far.

Nah it's not a city thing - it's a personal thing. Beer vs wine, Nissan/Toyota, AFL/NRL...I had an interest in old Falcon GT's as a kid and grew up loving the sound of these things. I've had some V8's in the past and would love another one day. Until then the Triton will have to do!
Cheers,
Mark.

As mark said
Have had a heap of v8s in the past and as this car only does around 5k a year and sits in the shed 90%of the time fuel economy doesn't really matter I just wanted another v8.
Navara was a good truck but that is exactly what they are a truck. No real creature comforts and certainly not real comfortable on a decent trip.
