Fitting gas struts to camper top
« on: May 28, 2013, 07:05:13 PM »
Hi all. My new struts arrived today and I was hoping someone had or could point me to a good instructional guide on their placement under the tent top. Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Grafy82, all I can say is be carefull mate especially if fitting them with the weight of canvas etc... The bed base and tent combined weigh a ton! Not a ton but you know what I mean.. We heard wind that a fella' was killed by a gas strut incident late last year at a local camper trailer 'assembly' company  ???

Give us a yell of you need a few pics of mounting technique's  Dave

Thanks Dave. I did hear about that fellow being killed and yes, I do worry about it so I will be very cautious. The struts Are 1100N and 585mm Long. Some pics would be excellent please. Once I have the bed base sorted I will get some more struts and fit up the roof rack with some.

Thanks again.
