All the usual disclaimers placed here re no affiliation etc, so I don't offend anyone, BUT.........

I took my new playdo to Opposite Lock at Penrith to get some stuff done to it.
Not only were they helpful and polite, but were understanding and offered some useful info.

I felt happy with that and took the car back to get a smartbar as some of you know from my build up thread.
I also got a snorkel fitted.

Shockingly ----------- It was ready on time, and wow, what a neat tidy fantastic job.
As a tradie of many years I could see straight away, the care and pride they took in their work.
I then took the Hawk out this weekend for a trial run towing.
Parked up at beautiful Toowoon Bay caravan Park (which I recommend too) I decided I might plug up the drain holes in the airbox and checkout the snorkel for sealing.

Of course they had already done it and a damn neat job too.
I realise there are stores around that care and many people have good experiences, but I'm always quick to whinge when people let me down, so I wanted to share the positive experience as well.

Anyone who's looking for a good price and great workmanship. Give Opposite Lock in Penrith a go.
Thanks guys for a great job.

Brian

Always good to hear a story from happy customers. It means there still is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Cheers.

I found OL quite helpful too.  There is a little story on how I ended up at OL Penrith.

I went to a very popular 4x4 shop/workshop in South Windsor (i think they moved to Vineyard now).

Anyways a member at the other shop made a comment on my 4B saying it wasn't worth them spending the time on it as my vehicle "wasnt a real 4WD".  I was driving a 75Series Toyota Troopy at the time and I took offence to his comments and quickly left.
In the end I spent my money at OL in Penrith and got great service for my trouble. :cup:

Yeah mate, I went to the same shop. A lot closer than Penrith to me (only 7 minutes away) and yes I left in a hurry.
Oh well OL can get my money instead.

Cheers

We're lucky in the Penrith/Mountains area. Never used OL but bought a few things from them . Also got Scot (ex TJM ) down the road and then Nick Mannells ARB who are one of the better ARB's around (IMO). All friendly all seem to do good work.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Hi Briann
Although not the same shop, I always go to KDS (Kununurra Diesel Service) in Kununurra, where Brad, the owner, is a retired road train driver, and mainly works on road trains and greyhound buses.
The service there is incredible, he does the repairs, replaces any damaged parts, returns the damaged parts to the customer and gives a fully itemised receipt.  I am not connected with his business and all that stuff, but I happily recommend any travellers coming through the Tanami to him.
Okay, okay, I do get a cuppa there when I take my tojo in.
Regards

I always had good experiences from OL in Brookvale. They pretty much built my Navara and did a great job. It's great to have such positive experience, especially in Sydney! Toowoon Bay is a great spot, we'll be there on the long weekend.

Totally agree, OL in Penrith are great,
I had my Xrox bar installed there a few weeks back and these guys did an awesome job, really went the extra step.
It was the first 4wd shop in Penrith that I have left feeling happy with their work
