Some help needed in Adelaide..
« on: May 22, 2013, 08:56:24 PM »
Is there someone in Adelaide that is handy with the tools (because that's not me!!).

I just need to borrow about an hour of your time for some drilling and riveting on my camper trailer.

Of course I am happy to compensate, and to travel to you as well.

Cheers

That's 4 beers so far, better buy a carton I reckon, that way you'll maximise the amount of advice :-)

I have to attach one solar panel to another using latches and stick some rivets into a couple of pole holders.

Im happy to supply the beers for an informal gathering this Sunday afternoon from 3pm for a couple of hours if you're available and want to come along. You can bring your family too if you wish.

PM me for my address as I don't want to have a  'Corey gathering'!

Maybe we can organise the next SA MySwag meet at the same time!!

Nah, jug of water and 4 straws will do it...... but not until they've finished the work and the CT is locked away.

Hi JKohn
I am a few hours NorthWest of Adelaide, well maybe a couple of days, but I could tempt you to come this way sometime.
I am a boilermaker by trade, but fairly useless at the moment.

What I love about this forum is the generosity of total strangers to help others with no expectation of reward except to meet a fellow MySwagger.

Thankyou to all of you who responded with an offer to help.  Often I feel embarrassed to ask, but not having a father from the age of 3, I was never taught anything to do with 'boys stuff'.

And a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Marshy who spent a couple of hours sweating away and making everything perfect when doing all the drilling and riveting!!

His company with good conversation during the process was great, and his patience with my boys sticking their heads within an inch of what he was doing so they could get a better look was nothing short of admirable.

So Marshy, Thankyou for taking time out of your day for helping me - it is very much appreciated!

It was my pleasure to meet you and your family John. Were the boys happy with the Crows win?

I'll drop in this weekend to cut the latches. After seeing your Aussie Swag, I don't want to stuff them up by cutting them too short. I was thinking about this on the way home and I thought, I'd better to do this on site.

That is one quality camper, and I must admit, I'm very envious

Looks like we will have to arrange regular working bee's over winter to get things done on everyone's trailers..... As I said before, I am more than happy to lend my experience to the brains trust.... It would be great if we foster more of this kind of thing, especially going into the winter months when most Adelaidians (???) go into hibernation.....

That's it. The forum is a great place but by far the best place is out there, or at home even, meeting other swaggers.

Good on you Marschy. And you John, because someone has to put up their hand, or put out the invite.
