Storing linen and bedding in a packed up CT

Tried a search on this, but no results came up.

We're close to selecting our first CT and have been tenting it for many years.  SWMBO keen to upgrade from the sleeping bag, camp stretcher and airmattress to an innerspring bed when we now trip and tour without the kids who have grown up. (No they haven't moved out just yet)

What do other swaggers do with your bed and linen in between campsites and for in between trips?

Do you leave the bedding made up?

Do wet tent walls affect the bed?

Does bedding go mouldy and if so, how do we best avoid this?

Our bed stays made up with all items except the pillows, the kids gear goes into a bag with our pillows and it sits in the walkway when travelling. We have a soft floor Omeo, after a wet pack up it is all covered with a tarp and we have had no problem with water, mould or smell

Yep on the bed ready to go spare set of sheets and the thing that goes on what ever they call them in the ct clean ones on used off when packing up, get home chuck them in the washing machine pack the clean set in the ct ready for next trip.

Once we get home from a trip, all the bedding is washed and when the opportunity arises put the trailer back up and re make the bed. Our trailer is stored in the garage so we unhook the catches and lift the hard floor a bit, put something in there to keep it up, open all hatches so it can have plenty of air to keep it all fresh.

I forgot to add, if you take the doona out to dry or air make sure you put it back in before going camping in the middle of a Victorian winter. Not a good feeling when you unfold the camper and there is no doona, a cold night that was and a big thanks again to Rich for bringing one up the next day.

Blankets, doonas and pillows stay on the main mattress when we fold up our soft floor CT.  On the last packup (heading home), sheets and towels go in a cloth bag in the trailer hub, are removed when we get home, washed and repacked.

We put a Supercheap silver tarp over the top of everything on the mattress before we fold up so it doesn't matter if the canvas is wet.  If it is wet, we set the CT up when we get home to allow it to fully dry.

yep, done that once and never again. Spent the night under the tarp we use to cover the bed for wet packup.

Bed is nearly always made up with my wonderful Minkie blanket in situ.  No pillows allowed between trips.

I have 2 sets for the camper - Summer / Winter.  We do a week of nights and the remove them to wash.  They live in a certain spot after being washed so that they can't be forgotten. 

We also keep 2 single and 1 double blanket (you know the little ones they sell 2 for a tenner at the supermarket?? ours have paw prints on them ... they are surprisingly warm but very light weight) in the wheel wells beside the bed just in case it gets a bit cooler than the Minki can handle ... they are the only ones to be used outside on the chairs.  If it gets really cold, throw a canvas wall over the bed too ... that keeps you warm.

Bed always goes under a silver tarp before being closed up ... because we can.

Either way, we setup the camper - throw on the pillows and it's done.

ln our soft floor we have a bed bag . This contains the 9in inner spring matress  ( Queen size ) made up with the doona , pillows  also our towels . This is all siped up to keep it neat , tidy dust free , & dry no matter the weather . Had it made at the auot trimmer  cost $200  we spent $
