gday from Tbar
« on: May 13, 2013, 10:31:41 AM »
gday guys and gals

so been looking around here for a while and finally decided to make an account and join in since i have just put a deposit on a new hard floor camper.

we are getting a Landmate ASi from camptime, i know what everyone says about the chinese gear but at the time this was the best we can get for the money and with all the features we were after (we looked around for like 3 months). i figure if we get 2 years out of it then thats cool then if we are still happy with it we keep it or look to upgrade.

So heres some pics

this is what we are getting except in white

this is our exact camper but this is the only pic i got of it  :-[

this will be pulled with our 96 turbo diesel rodeo wich is already fairly well set up because all our camping has been done with swags and tarps up until now.

more pics

2inches of lift front and rear and muddies and that about it

got pretty bogged on our last trip to stgeorge

rear drawer and false floor setup

2 x 100Ah batteries in the back

100W solar panel on the roof of the canopy

all that ran our 65 litre primus fridge/freezer and charged phones and the shower for 12 days without any drama on our last trip, so pretty happy with that.

and thats our setup thus far

its just the wife and i at the moment, no kids. my wife loves getting out and about, probably more-so than me, so its good to have something that you can enjoy together

Hi komaterpillar,
welcome to the forum mate.  looks like you got a pretty good setup there.
Oh BTW, just check on the fastening of the long feet that run along the top of your trailer that become the floor when you set it up.
I know of of one trailer where these feet became loose from vibrations and the owner lost a couple of them whilst travelling.  Just a thought.  See you around the forum mate,Muz.

O.O wow that would suck, thanks for the tip. talked to an old bloke that showed upwith one of these on the back, while having a look at these campers, and he was pretty happy with his. But he did say to go over EVERYTHING and double check it all, as he had a few things come loose (didn't specify anything in particular though)
but yeah, i've got 14 days to go on this swing then 3 weeks off so, pick up the new camper and then spend a couple of days going over it front to back getting it up to scratch and adding a few things that it lacks, trickle charge lead, better/more led strip lighting, bigger battery and charger etc... *adds check the feet on the roof to the list*

G'Day Komaterpillar from just down the road at Pittsworth. There does seem to be a few of us on the Darling Downs now. Mate I just bought a second hand cheapy so it doesn't matter where it comes from as long as it suits what your needs are.

See you around and maybe someone will have the time and inclination to arrange a DD trip (not too many beaches on the downs though)

Cheers

Rod

Hi from the WA Tanami Desert as well.  This is a great site, full of good people and normally friendly advice. though it seems some need a few ales to make sense first.
