Camper trailers
« on: May 09, 2013, 04:01:46 PM »
Hi from Newcastle.

I am thinking of buying a camper trailer and am looking at either the MDC V3 or there is another trailer put together by Aussie Inlander Campers at Tamworth who have a good unit.

Has anyone had experience with either of these two companies/trailers or anyone can recommend some brand in the medium price bracket up to $8500

Thanks in anticipation

Welcome Geoscamp,

Good luck with your search for a CT.
You have a Budget, stick to it and you will find a Trailer that you will be happy with.

Hi Geoscamp and welcome.

Whatever your budget for the CT, make sure you allow enough spare for the 'alterations' and 'personal touches' we all make to the CT once purchased.  I think the personalisation virus gets us all once we make the purchase  ;D

As has been said allready, why not go 2nd hand?  Lots of great quality CT's around waiting for someone to strike a deal.
Cheers,

Taz

Geosamp, did you end up getting the MDC? There are alot of people who keep pushing the buy second hand option. If your anything like me you want a new one, you want to be the first owner.

The 'buy second-hand' option is mentioned often because, as with many other products from cars to snow skis, it often allows you to 'get into the scene' without investing/wasting too much money

In the case of camper trailers, it also often allows you to buy a better quality, more durable product than the flood of poorly manufactured imports that have arrived in the past five years or so

I've gone for a Swag Camper from Brisbane. Was ment to shoot down the weekend just gone but had other things popped up.  Getting it sent up on car carrier next Friday.

Did you get to the caravan and camping show the other weekend?  I wasn't a fan of the tents on the MDC and also how the trailers were put together once they got to Australia, but that is personal opinion.  Mine cost $8500 show special 15oz canvas 12' tent, full annex, rear room, boat rack, off road trailer and a few other bits and pieces.

Don't complain! It could be worse, you could be six foot under or a brick of ashes!!
