Stuck in a caravan park in Biloela waiting for the tow truck to take my Triton to the dealers in the morning.
Got 600km into a 4,000km holiday and find out the muppets that did my last service (on Wednesday) didn’t seat one of the lines on the common rail properly and it’s been pumping out diesel all the way here.
Woke at sparrows fart this morning ready to put in a solid nine or ten hours on the road. Doing my quick pre-departure checks and noticed something had been spraying up on the tailgate, then saw a few spots on the front of the trailer. Look under the Triton, the front of the tow bar is wet, front of the diff is wet, whole under carriage is wet, gearbox wet, traced it all the way up to the second line on common rail. Tried nipping it up with no luck.
Reseating an injector line is not something I felt like doing in a motor inn car park at dawn. Being Easter Monday in Biloela there’s not a lot of options for help until tomorrow, so I’m stuck here in purgatory with my fingers crossed for a quick fix in the morning and we can continue with our holiday....
