Lost reverse. Y62 patrol. Went site seeing, went to back out of the carpark, and nothing there.

Luckily I could drive forwards over the nature strip.
All forward gears, drives as normal.

It seems the reverse piston seal in the tranny has let go, car moves very slowly when you get the revs up over 4k.

Anyway, made the 900km trip home no worries, so probably saved $5k in towing, which will cover the cost of a reco tranny less labour.

Tibooburra tonight, another one about 0C. Great cloudless skies but a cold wind to keep it cool. Hopefully further north will be warmer.

Been a great number of BRB participants coming back down as we are driving north. All seem to have had a great time and the towns that we pass through think the money spent by those going to and coming back is a great. Local garage here said it has been the busiest fortnight he can remember, and thought the BRB was responsible.

Also good to see the Tibooburra Hotel operating again after the fire/s. Good people and good food. Beer was tasty as well.

Firewood for warmth, the dog is shivering alittle, he'll go to be shortly
I've layered up, just a jacket to go.
Excellent!

Been snow up there for the last few weeks. I can see it from home. Not often you can. I thought there'd be a lot more. Thought maybe the gates were locked?

in the past few yrs we couldnt get past the picnic table. this year we got 1/2 was to the hairpin/lookout from the picnic table before getting real snow... more of it was ice than snow

The Permit scheme is a 100% fail... there was supposed to only be 2 groups up there, we saw at least 5, plus 2 dudes running on their own

We are in Mareeba. We were supposed to be on the Cape by now but the Mitchell River is still flooded so couldn't get across, and the Burke Development Road was shut too. Had to come the long way round via Croydon.

Good thing diesel is so cheap, or we might have been bleeding about the extra milage. Still warmer than down home though. ;D

First time out for us since covid and the first time with this particular camper. We are in Llangian (North Wales).

No problems apart from a slight drip in one place from the awning roof.

It’s really busy…
