Not even remotely CT related but anyway;
Decided to dump Telstra as they were way over the top expensive for our home broadband and found the whole process of choosing a new provider a nightmare.
Even researching online the buggers would email you or phone the number when you check whether you can get the service and they just wouldn't let up. Pushy sales too - "I sign you up now okay" seemed to be the common catchphrase.
Finally found Internode and gotta say they were really great. Call centre was helpful and not pushy in any way and sounded local. Happy for no contract, byo modem and easy churning. (I sound very knowledgable hey
)
Signed up, they sent me an email to say it was ready, replied to the email in link and within the hour the change was made. Got a new router because telstra coded the Thomson one so only geeks can use it by changing the firmware (
) , plugged it in, typed user name and password and all done.
Saving over $60 compared to Telstra.
Sweet!
