Howdy all,
Discovered this forum by accident yesterday and after browsing through a few articles though i should join :). I'm a complete Nooob to the world of camper trailers actually best make that camping in general lol. My son started school this year so I figured that camping would be a great thing for the 2 of us to do on school holidays, so I dragged him to camping and caravan show to look at tents and stuff. After many hours of working around the RNA grounds I walked out of there with a shopping bag full of camper trailer pamphlets and so began the endless task of researching all the different brands that I had seen, and there were a lot. I ended up with a MDC V2 off-road deluxe, which was the best value for my budget. i picked up just before x-mas and we took it up to Noosa for the last week of January which was great until ex cyclone Oswald came to town and blew us out of the park lol. I have to say the tent held up great during the heavy down pours with not a single leak to be seen.
Well it's school holidays again and we booked in at Big4 ( great for young kids and single dads lol ) at Hastings point from tomorrow to Friday, so hopefully the weather will hold out, which isn't looking to promising at this stage  :'(
Well I think i have bored everyone enough now lol. looking forward to being a member here and picking up some great tips for future trips.
Happy Camping
Heath

PS. I set the tent up last week to air it out before we venture off again and noticed that there was a few spots of mould on the roof canvas, mainly under the side flaps. I had it unfolded as best I could under my carport for a few days when we got back last time, but  it was obviously still a bit damp in that area. I have hit with White vinegar and water solution, and that took most of it off, but there is still a stain there. anyone have a good remedy for removing the stain? Cheers

Welcome HeathM,

Enjoy your travels mate!

I'm pretty sure if you do a search in the main area of MySwag on mould there might already be a thread on what others have done to remedy the situation.

welcome to the forum HeathM.  Go to the chemist and buy some oil of cloves, dilute with water and spray on the mould.  Oil of cloves kills mould spores without damaging canvas as some chemicals will.  See you around the forum.  Muz.

G'day & Welcome Heath

Another forum member had terrible trouble with mould on their camper. They recently advised me they had treated it with Wet'n'forget and left it for quite a while. They were pleasantly surprised on opening it again that much of the staining had been removed.

Check out our national meet in September; it's being held at Nymboida this year during the school holidays. A great way to meet new people and there will be lots and lots of kids there too.

Thanks guys, rain didn't bother us to much, was mostly at night and the canvas held up well. Gave me a chance to use the annex walls for the first time, whick worked great.

Hi crashbang, I'm looking forward to trying out the camp grounds with in the same radius, Think next on the list will be forest Glen at noosa. Looks like a great one for the kids.
