Is Sandalwood Incense the same as Sandalwood Mozzie sticks ?
« on: April 07, 2013, 08:57:02 AM »
You can buy Sandalwood mosquito sticks and you can buy Sandalwood incense sticks.

Given the difference in price(ie..incense you can buy boxes of sticks very cheaply), would Sandalwood Incense have the same mosquito effect ?

For every situation you have 3 choices. Live with it, change it, or leave it. But only pick one

I buy my Sandalwood sticks from Bunnings.  One stick seems to last the evening.

They are not the same, they just smell the same.  The sandalwood insect sticks just use the smell of sandlewood to mask the smell of repellent.  Normal sandalwood incense doesn't have any repellent with it.

Yes, some sticks use sandalwood to mask the smell of the citronella but not the sandalwood sticks I was referring to http://www.newmountain.com.au/sticks.asp  They are pure sandalwood.

Appears they are no longer on the Bunnings website but are still available at Masters and probably elsewhere.

I use the same as KB.  The insect repellent sandalwood version is not the same as incense.  Smells the same but you'll be sweating mozzies while enjoying the incense.
