Powerful 4x4 rock sliders

Has anyone had any experience with these?

I am after a set of sliders to replace my bent alloy steps on the 80 series.

They are currently priced at $299.

Tigers 11 ones look identical and are priced at $499 and xroc ones are $1100, but useless to me as I want step type ones so i can access the roof rack.

they seem incredibly cheap. I recently bought a set for my Pajero and found most of the quality metal tube sliders priced from $650 upwards.
There is also an issue with the design..on one of the photos you will see that the support bars are below the step portion itself. These mean they can catch and drag backwards meaning they can't really act as a 'rock slider'..more of a sturdy side step.
The delivery prices are pretty steep as well.

Agreed mate the standard alloy ones aren't much chop. They have had it now, but they did protect the sills.

Agree mate, there are no real clear pictures of the underneath. I think they only have two attachment points as well. I was considering using them for a base and adding another bracket and a receiver on the front for some brush bars from the bull bar.

I couldn't buy the materials for that price?

The delivery is expensive (brings them to the same price as the tigers) however they are only down the road at Landsvale and pick is ok, so I would just get them next time I was in Sydney.

My neighbour is handy with a welder and would make the mods easily. We just don't have the time, space or equipment to knock them up from scratch.

The steps on my patrol are the same as a powerful 4x4.
Im not sure why there is a centre bit dropping down though.
Im very happy with mine, i have given them a hiding and they still work.
I think for 300 you cant go wrong.

I understand that my patrol is not an 80 series so they wont be the same but they should be similar.

I think yours would be similar to these Tigers 11 ones by the sounds mate. These ones look pretty good to me and have a receiver on the front I think as the bars are optional.

These ones are $200 more but that includes postage so, I may be able to negotiate a better deal for pick up.

I was keen to see the powerfull ones on a vehicle as looking at the pics the pipes do drop down a bit.

Mate just go the powerful lol they are 700 on powerfuls website.
If you have a look on the website it shows the underside. Very similar to mine in construction.
Not sure what the drop down bit is for...... maybe it can be.modified?
Obviously they dont hold a candle to say a tjm one, but for less than the price of a set of alloy steps it is a much better alternative.
I had a couple of small issues with mine, nothing serious just crappy little bolts that hold the treadplate on. (Still have to replace them) a couple were rounded and not tight so I get a vibration noise from them.
I say go for it mate, especially at 300.

Take your tread plates off and put 3m double sided tape on the contact areas, then reattach with your bolts. No more vibrations............

Yep, that was the plan. Just havent done it yet.
But the 3m idea is cool,  ;Di was just going to use new bolts. I'll give that a whirl next week.

mate depending on where they are located and how big the sliders are if you want to purchase them if they can be dropped of near my depot in badgerys creek i'd drop them of to you in bathurst. I head to syd daily from cowra so go through there twice a day. They would have to fit in the sleeper of my truck though.

I'm pretty sure GOLDIE has these on his 100 series. They seem fine to me. At that price, even if you had to touch them up you could hardly go wrong Jas.

My ARB steps have been terrific, have saved me so many times (mainly in carparks), but are not really sliders in the true sense either.

I love Sikka mate, and perfect for the job as long as you never want get the treads off and re-use them.

it sticks the plate down yes but it also stops the two metals( in my case aluminum and the steel) reacting.

Sounds good Mr. I may just pick a weekend and organise a few breskies with you mate. Unfortunately I am smashed for at least the next 3. I have the old man coming this weekend with windows 7 and all the program's I need to get computer back in shape. 8 is sh!t as I can't run any of my Xp based program's. 

What are you like with winches? I want to service my high mount. According to the manual they don't require service but after 15 years I beg to differ. Just want to split the case change the oil in the gear box and re grease the shafts, replace the seals etc.
