We are very happy with ours, we considered the auto but you lose to many kw through the transmission , Nice to ride in for a ute, we get about 10l per 100 normal and about 12l per 100 towing 2.5t camper trailer, with a chip, ours is the base model this way we could afford to do all the mods we wanted.

I have a Dmax LSU, it's the first 4x4 we have owned.

We had a few dramas with the dealer regarding delivery and I complained to Isuzu Ute Australia about it. they intervened and got things sorted out the same day and I was told by a salesman that IUA had launched an internal enquiry about it all and that the manager was now just a salesman.
I have also been in contact with IUA about a few things regarding the Dmax (nothing negative) and they have been extremely helpful.

I did a lot of research before buying the Dmax and while I could find a lot of negatives for the others, I was hard pressed to find any for the Dmax.

Check out the 'my4wd' section.

Couple of great threads on there regarding the Dmax.

I'm following 'nay dmàx' and 'mandrakes' dmax threads.

Some great mods from mandrakes, nay-dmax own 3 of them if I remember correctly.

Seems worth looking at and seriously considering,  good luck.

Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

That would be the previous model's auto gearbox, the new one is better, I've got one and I love it just haven't towed with it yet  :'(
