42...though I did go a whole year once thinking I was 37 when I was really 36, so I could be younger
I've been camping since I was a young kid, and thought I was in heaven when I met my husband as his family owned a camping store and he loved hiking, abseiling, camping etc...
We camp with our kids now every chance we can get, though like most others on here, it's a tad more luxurious now than when I was their age.
As for 4wding, I lived in the NT for a while growing up and everyone had a 4wd. If you didn't have one you couldn't get out of town, except to go to the airport.
Hubby and I picked up our first 4wd in 2009 and we haven't looked back travelling for several weeks a year with the kids, and having lots of fun close to home on the weekends too. We now actually have two 4wds, and they're both Land Rovers (we've got it bad
).
There is nothing better than the freedom of camping, and 'Monty' and 'Black Betty' help us get to some of the most amazing places on the planet, which thankfully just happen to be in our magnificent backyard
