Ohh dont worry i am thinking of getting one just need to save up a few more pennies to throw in myself so i dont have to morgatge my life away

As for the oil consumption quit living in the past that was like sorted out in 2007.

My only concerns were as follows

Whats up with the brakes it made a hissing sound ever time i hit the middle pedal is that normal (just a momentary sound like the pressure building)
And can i rip the rear spoiler off so i can open the back door with the kayacks on the roof

Hissing normal to the best of my knowledge.  Mine's done it since new, the dealer told me at the first post delivery service that it's normal, and I've never found the brakes wanting.

Can not say I have ever noticed any hissing........if I do now, I am coming to get you  ;D

Never had any oil consumption issues with mine

Rear spoiler is the only thing that sh!ts me to tears in that it creates a low pressure area on the back window and it is the first thing to get covered in any dust. Where were the vent holes to deflect dust of the rear screen.
Cheers, Craig

Tell me, was Mrs C in the car with you? Did you happen to notice her not sitting squarely on the seat?

I believe the noise you're describing is what I understand to be called a brake accumulator.   Although I would describe it as a quiet whirring, rather than a hiss though so perhaps it's not?

I'm not sure of the brake accumulator function exactly, but I assume it's something to build up additional pressure in the brake system to allow for superior braking performance?  It comes on whenever you press the brakes - I only notice it when the radio is off.

Mines not used any oil.

Never heard it, even with radio off. After sponge American brakes the 200 stoppers are amazing. Almost as good as the BIL's Honda CRV which are the best by far I have driven, and its 2/3 of the weight

4. TERROR - You get a k or 2 down from the dealer and give it a bootfull, any notions you had of an understanding of space, time and the physics of the universe are literally plastered against the back window and this thing leaps foward like a scared rhino on acid

I clearly remember the first time I drove an auto transmission - it was a big V8 American pickup (make fogotten) which belonged to a friend of the guy I was working for at the time, and he asked me to take it down the road to fill it with petrol.  came to a red light and sat there as usual with the left foot holding the clutch down and the right foot blipping the throttle.  As the lights changed I revved it up and let the clutch out.

It was then i found out that the pedal under my left foot had been the brake, not the clutch! The truck just about stood up on its rear wheels and took off down the road like a scalded cat, with me hanging onto the steering wheel in terror.

Luckily both the truck and I survived, as did everyone else on the road - but it was a good thing I was first in the queue at the lights!
