G'day Axl,
Yep, apparently the legs will help with keeping coals / heatbeads etc burning as the pot isn't sitting directly on the hot stuff.... though in saying that i've never cooked with a CO that has legs, and never found an issue with not having them.
None of my pots have legs under them, but plenty of CO Makers over the years have cast them with legs. All horses for courses really. If u don't reckon you'll ever need the legs, grind ém off.....
With regard to using a CO over an Oz Pig, i imagine i wouldn't be using the CO on top of a plate, i'd just be putting the CO direct over the open top, that's what i'm thinking anyway..... Do the legs get in the road if u tried this?
The other option is leave this CO with it's legs on, i'm not sure how many people u normally cook for, but as the CO in your set is a 9qrt, you may find yourself needing a bigger one, so buy the bigger one with a flat base....... oh and don't rule out buying yourself a spun steel unit, i'd recommend the "Aussie Camp Oven" from Southern Metal Spinners.....
