Awning Tent
« on: March 08, 2013, 07:46:02 PM »
I assume this is an import job. Has anybody seen a reputable brand version of this? I already have the awning and thought it would be good for an overnighter rather than a swag.

Unnecessary for people who have CT's that actually get out of the garage!!
(Meant in the nicest possible way. I'm sure the new CT will get out there, couldn't resist but then realised this joke is worn beyond thin- sorry)

Agree oz tent comes out on top.
Plus, for mine a swag is warmer in cold weather, and depending on who you camp with may be a swag is easier. I camp with. My two young sons, much easier for one (often slightly hungover) dad to roll up three swags than one tent, three sleeping bags, three roll mats, etc!

Tim (a mate of mine) just bought a package deal on ebay that had the roof top tent (1.8m wide) annex for roof top tent, side awning, fly screen for side awning and the quick fold tent. He paid $1700 for the whole lot I think. I dunno how longevity is going to go but it all works great, is water proof, quick to put up and put away and packs up well.
We went out in it for a weekend a couple of weeks ago, He took the rooftop and I took the side tent, Quite comfy really.
I was pretty impressed for the price to be honest. For the use I would get out of it when I don't want to take the camper I think I would quite happily pay the $300 0dd for the tent.

Cheers

Correct, made by the same company too, you just need a joiner.
