I decided it was time to do some work on the WIFE'S car for a change.
Its not bad looking ol tub, the car that is, well, both really.
Its a white 2001 Statesman, lowered, loud pipes, big 19 inch aftermarket wheels etc.... the young guys sometimes try to race her.

She's been delegated the white Avalon for a few days. (I might get a "I Love Lawn Bowls" sticker for the back window)
Its everything hers isn't, its quiet, very smooth, the ride is impeccable.

Up on 4 stands this morning, for an engine service, auto service, new top rad hose, new fuel filter, new rubber donut for the tail-shaft and a general... once over mechanically over the next few days.

I've re-sprayed the lower portion of the front bumper bar, as someone tailgates people and there was more stone chips than paint on that.
The car has about 2 inches of dust over the dash and gauges., so that will taken off with a scraper and cleaned.
I'll vacuum the 2 cubic metres of dirt up off the floors and carpets.

Then there is a full detail of the inside.

Then, by around Tuesday, it'll score some bubbly water over the bodywork followed by a buff and polish.
I reckon, by around Thursday, it should be just a squirt of some shiny stuff on the wheels and she can have it back.

Somewhere in amongst all that, i'll register the one owner Magna too I think.

At least it came up ok from last weeks work.
Oh, except the lower portion of the front bar I painted..... about two shades too light in colour.  :o

Have a look at how dry we are out here.....  :'(

Today I cleaned and checked the MTB after the Derby trip last weekend. I also washed the Prado and took it for a run up the freeway to blow the cobwebs out.

Yesterday I replaced the cranking battery terminals on the Prado with some Unilugs, really happy with them.

I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go…

Work - Outback
Play - Prado

I tidied and sorted (some) Shit out.

you can (now) walk *all the way around* the pile of Shit in the middle (that is up on pallets as the garage floods).

This was achieved by putting even ore stuff on the shelving down one side.

I also started collating all the camping gear into one space and chucking old stuff.

Built a door to close in the lean-to, which is attached to the side of my workshop. This is in preparation for going away for a 38 day cruise through NSW, VIC, SA and back to QLD through Birdsville (assuming the floods have receded).

Extended a storm water pipe out of the ground and shortened the corresponding downpipe in preparation for our asphalt driveway being laid next week as the builders plumber had the junction below ground level...

Also knocked this up for a new outside table. 100 year old Jarrah  that was machined up to look like timber.

Just need to work out the top

Needed another record storage rack, and Id been racking my brain trying to come up with something industrial that would go with the existing one I had made. Wood was from an old weathered industrial jarrah pallet I'd stored away years ago. You just cant buy timber like it. Well low and behold, a month ago I found another exact pallet laying in a scrap heap. Talk about a win.
So now I have a matching pair.

Cheers Glen

Fully stripped the Keenmaid RH90 range hood that was installed in 2004, degreased it, shimmed the back bronze bearing on one of the motors as it had worn a bit and making a fair bit of noise. 0.65mm slop. Reinstalled. Going to modify the roof duct as it doesn’t line up well enough for my liking.
Tested it, man this thing sucks the pots off the stove top now.  :cup:

Had some spare plywood so knocked up a box to mount some power sockets and a stereo/speakers for the camper trailer, spare fusion mechless head unit with BT should work well with a couple of 6" speakers, just need to paint it and finish the wiring.

Slowly renovating the interior of our old van. Have now re-painted both ends, just now need to do the middle section, then can lay new floor and go away for Easter!
We've swapped from the camper to a van yay! :)
