I've never put up a shed on a slab. My current 2 sheds were only granted permission if the footings were in the ground but I am only 500-600 mts from the beach so there is a wind factor involved.

The very bottom flashing is used as a vermin barrier, with a rubber seal (Abelflex) on the outside to stop the tin from having direct contact with the concrete and to allow for a bit of movement.

The lip of that flashing goes about an inch into the concrete, and is 8 inches or so high and fixed to the bottom purlin.

Today is unboxing, expansion cuts, and jetwash to try and find the driveway again...

In about a month, will acid wash the outside slab and colour seal it

Finished the concreting with the concreter.

Cuts are all measured and made, everything jet washed...



Started roughing in the power point circuits at lunch time, but not much else for a few weeks before the slab fully cures, and do the exterior colour seal and caulk the cuts, after which will get a few of the boys over to move the water tanks into position, and reconnect all the storms.

Any Melbourne based tradies know where I can get decent priced 15mm C/D 2400 ply sheets from?  So far it looks like PlyCo are winning out...

Bit of an update, power on, lights up and running, gigabit data running and a couple bits of porn to adorn the shed.
Laguna 8 inch jointer and a Sawstop PCS 10 inch. More to come when in stock.

Very nice.
When I was a apprentice electrician at the railways , one of our jobs was to rebuild starting contactors for the locos which involved replacing contacts.
Guys there used to carve cuttlefish shell to make moulds then melt the silver off to old contacts to make jewelry from those moulds. Some were quite talented at doing it.

Started erecting gates to contain a couple of NEW Jack Russell Terrier puppies. The property is surrounded with 1800mm colourbond fencing, but there was no security between the house and the front yard. The new gates, on both sides of the house will give us a starting point for where the ‘little mongrels’, who we love, will find an exit point. W have been told the ‘if an ant can get through, a Jack Russell can follow!!!!’. We will see.

In the excitement of posting the puppies 😜 I forgot the gates ??? One side nearly completed, just need to attach latches, etc, and then scrape the ‘gate swing’ arc level.

Good thought there. We actually found a product at the BGS that covers approx 800mm x 600mm and clips together. It is usually used for containing stones to a landscaping area. We have embedded them with around 600mm on the inside of the gate, allowing 200mm to protrude under the gate. ‘Little mongrels’, that we love, will need to start digging at least 700mm from the gate before they can go down and then under (Not impossible, but it should take them long enough, with our soil, for us to notice and circumvent🙂. Sorry for the quality of the photo as it was already dark when I saw your reply, and wanted you to be comfortable that we had considered the issue.

Never been happy with the handbrake on our North Coast Camper. Just didn't inspire.
Not enough pull on the brakes for my liking, and the pawl engagement would best be described as "iffy".

Changed the lever assembly today from the supplied McHitch unit to a new CruiseMaster jobbie.
MUCH better now.... :cup: :cup:
