In the laundry, not the shed, but Mrs decided that she wanted a new door knob on the inside laundry door (the old one was apparently a 1980 original when the house was built so probably fair enough!
)
Went got one from the BGS & all good, BUT, what should have been a 5 minute job turned into 1.5 hours of muttering & mumbling because the bloody thing wouldn't fit
The old hole was 10mm too narrow, the space for the latch going into the door was 10mm too short, & the striker & cover plate holes were both about 1mm too small as well
(Ever found problems like that, Mr Hairy Man
)
All fixed in the end though, & Mrs happy so all
One question though ...
This funny looking hookie bit was in the pack with the new knob, but absolutely no mention on the instructions of it, or what it's supposed to be for
Any ideas
