An auto cooler is ALWAYS good insurance.
They arent much $, but a gearbox rebuild usually is :)

One of them cheapie coolers on the front will make a huge difference to the auto temp.

Welcome
Like lost has already said. For the cost of a cooler its worthwhile for trouble free towing.  Auto boxes build up a serious amount of heat whilst towing, so the cooler you can keep it the better.

Some of the Longreach series had an auto cooler standard...The Outback and the 1 tonner version I think..

Mine is a an XH Gli with 1-tonne leaf pack and auto cooler - but it isn't the '1 tonner'....go figure..could have been  dealer option or something...

It'll be down the front, infront of the radiator, drivers side of centre, down low.

Like others have said definitely the trans cooler, and I'd be throwing an extra leaf on the rear too

thanks for that, with 102 kg on ball it drops 25mm which i thought would tie the rear down, mind you i have the elect brakes set on 28% boost to the ct which keeps all lined up even when braking HARD. am i on the right track or should i do as you suggest
thanks for you comment  ;D

Might only drop 25mm when stationery, but when your at speed your suspension will travel way too much and you will find you will loose front end stability, that's why an upgrade is a must
