Well, Mrs Delux and i went Yesterday (thursday), $18 for both of us (thanks RACV) and honestly, we were the only 2 people there under the age of 50 at didnt have an exhibit there!!!! The number of people with 4 wheel walker frames was scary!
And as said earlier, either know your prices or have the smart phone/tablet at the ready to check out the inevitable "Show Price" and dont be shy about it. I pulled out my phone and said to Mrs Delux "i'll just check that price on "tentworld" or similar and some people started to look really sheepish.I called one guy on his "special Show Price" on Anderson Plugs. had "50A Anderson plugs for $12 -usually $15). They are on their website for $12! Ok, its only $3, but its the principle. He was "generous enoug" to suggest he could "just" do them for $12. I didnt need any, i was just having a sticky beak.
They pay a bucketload to exhibit at these shows, there isnt that much incentive to slash prices! Did find Camac (I think thats the right spelling) had some good prices on Narva plugs and accessories compared to some internet prices i found on the iphone on the day.
Parking wise, after getting caught in the monster traffic, found not going around the south end of the racecourse, but going around the north to the entrance was quicker than last year, but still took about 30 minutes from being outside Monash uni to getting out of the car. If you buy and print your tickets online it HEAPS quicker to get in. there is only 1 cashier doing card, the rest cash, but internet tickets just walk straight up to the security man......... that would have saved us 15-20 minutes standing in the sun!!!!!!
