Camping trips and vineyards - a direct correlation?

Was booking a trip to Lake Nagambie this morning when it dawned on me that a lot of my camping trips always seem to have good vineyards in close proximity;
e.g. Nagambie - Tahbilk, Mitchelton.
Previous trips;
Healesville - Yarra Valley
Port Elliot - McLaren Vale
Portland - Coonawarra (OK, its a fair distance away, but I still think there is a link - the credit card can prove it).

There is little doubt that vineyards are clouding my judgement when choosing places to go. Doesn't look like i'll ever get to the outback at this rate! With that in mind, I figure that I need to get this out of my system so I might need to do a few more vineyard/camping trips first.
 So who has got suggestions of great camping/vineyard combos? Walking distance back to the camp site is always a bonus!

There's some good vineyards up around the Grampians Jim. Not really within stumbling distance of campsites,  but that's why you take the wife along
And as an added bonus, break the drive at Great Western! Highly recommend a tour of the vaults, then a bit of tasting!

Oh, its also great camping at the Grampians  too BTW!

I wouldn't say the quality is outstanding, but Mildura has loads of wineries and plenty of camping opportunities.

I would go to Langhorne Creek free camping and winneries just across the road you can't beat that, there are plenty of good cellar doors around there.

Hamlin Bay is a short (beautiful) drive from Margret River.  It doesnt get much better.

Next time your in McLaren Vale check out Goodinson Brewery if you like good beer as well.

Grampians/Great Western - good call Matt
Mildura - Happy to comprimise a bit on quality for camping on the Murray
Langhorne Creek - not familiar with this area and definitely like to check it out. Any suggestions on camping spots?
Margaret River - the holy grail of camping and good wine I suspect. One day I will get over there!
Chateau Hornsby - maybe I can get to the red centre after all. Certainly intrigued about this vineyard.
Hunter Valley - another for this list and probably the last spot for decent wine on Qld trips (apologies to Stanthorpe).

When I worked at Southcorp the social club organised picking Cabernet and merlot in the Adelaide Hills which was then crushed and bottled by Cellarmasters. From memory we picked 1.6 tonnes of cab, and about a half tonne of merlot. It was a terrific day, and the 15 cases reward later was well worth the effort, and it was a great quaffer to boot.

The farm has Shiraz and tempranillo ) Shiraz is machine picked. But they always leave a lot that needs a hand going over.

Sorry for late reply re Langhorne Creek the free camping is just across the bridge as you go through the town there are two areas one has a drop toilet the other just a grass area under trees
