Flat pack steel fire place forum post
« on: February 09, 2013, 09:04:47 AM »
Hi guys

Not that long ago there was a thread about home made flat pack fire places made out of steel.

I've been searching for the last 20 minutes and can't find it.

can anyone post the link to this thread?

Thanks so much.

Roscco.
This is one I started a while ago Fire Above the Ground and there is the Easy Burn pedeosar found. Still haven't made my mind up. I spoke to easy steel solutions and they were pretty accommodating to change size or make one similar to the ebay idea.

Like this one?

We use it everywhere and it leaves no footprint.

Not cheap though.

Brilliant product!  I have one of these, and the HillBilly Cookstand setup.  The SnowPeak is made from stainless and folds flat!  Recommend you order the additional/optional canvas bag for it - holds the fire/pit folded and accessories!.. ;D

I would love the snow peak firepit. But I think my pocket is more like the eBay job.

Another vote for Snow Peak and the canvas bag! The fire breathes well without burning the timber too fast. Puts out heaps of heat through being up off the ground. Easy to cook on and fantastic flat packing for easy transportation. Well worth the cost

lf you dont want the heavy steel l can sell you a PDFP , Pre Dug Fire Pit . This is a multie use devise a real time & space saver . With the PDFP you can store stuff in it in transit then put it in the groung when you need the fire pit . Send the dimentions of what you need & a HUGE amount of $$ plus postage , handling & insurence  Then l can get started on it for you . The only downside to the PDFP is if it falls off the CT in transit its really hard to find again as it looks almost the same as a Pothole . Potholes are not the same quality as PDFPs
Dont be fooled by be some Scammer that will try to sell you nothiung The PDFP is Crafted Quality . Unseen be the nonbeliver

Amazingly, some nasty, and ill-informed managers of campgrounds have banned your new product. They fear that Pre Dug Fire Pit will scare people who bring dogs and children away from their campground. Or something like that.

Seriously, a few more permanent firepits at campground would be great.

I have heard on the grapevine that those PDFP's will magically consume all your beer in one foul swoop. Just watch them. Lucky for us we are immune from this strange happening in Qld.

Are the PDFP's stackable? Say I have two of them, can I store one inside the other, or will this cause the universe to explode?

Also, are they rated? I don't want to get caught out using a dodgy unrated PDFP.

Cheers,
Matto :)

Are PDFP's Australian made and do they carry the logo.  Are they made of Australian products or assembled in Australia?  don't want to get short with an imitation imported, full australian built copy. >:D

I'm interested in the price of PDFP.

Whilst I am sure they are good idea I was considering buying some PDPH (Pre Dug Post Holes) from a major retailer and joining them together.   ???

I realise that many of the PDPH s are imported   :-[ but we all have to fit within a budget.

Mate What can l tell you PDFP are stackable , as they are the original others have copied the design beyond World Wide Patent  . The PDPH is nearly an extended PDFP . Who in there right mind would order a 1.2m X450mm  round PDFP  ???  its just a waste of wood to fill the hole to get coals going  & yes they can be stacked inside themselves but only if the PDFPSC is used .  At an extra cost the PDFPSF ( Per Dug Fire Pit Storage Flask )
All Genuine PDFP's  &  PDFPSF are Rated A1  & thats the best you can get . Hurry this is a limpted offer

Just a word of warning if you intend to get a pdfp from speewa as I think he may import them from China and just unfold them and repackage. I have been making holes in Australia for more than 30 years, if you order from me you can even come and see it being dug to whatever size and shape you require
