What are your thoughts ? is it ok to sit around the camp fire with other campers that you just introduced your self to and pull out a bottle of quality chardonnay knock the lid off it throw the lid in the fire or rubbish bin and down the chardonnay straight out the bottle, paper bag removed of course. Now and then I like to treat my self with a bit of the fancy stuff but not being to fancy about.

The boss's favourite drink is champers,

We collected pewter Goblets and mugs for camping from the local salvo's etc for the camper.

Now we don't have to worry about breaking any glasses in the camping kit

That would depend on the crowd and what they are doing.

I'd think it would make you look like a dero or Perc the wino but unlike Perc, you would become unpopular very quick.

I'd rather drink sump oil than chardonnay, so I wouldn't do it.

By all means bring it along for the walk but decant it into something to drink it out of, or if you want to drink out of it put it a longneck stubbie holder, :)

Agree with Kingbilly, if you go to the trouble and expense of buying a good bottle why not use a nice glass . In saying that you are welcome around our camp fire anytime drinking whatever you want how ever you want just dont offer me a sip.

I dont see an issue with it, you could also pass it around for everyone to have a swig? :)

Totally agree with you but my thoughts are if you are buying an expensive bottle why would they sell the wine in a cheap glass bottle surely it is a total packege deal. And thank you for welcoming me in sharing the warmth of your camp fire I will still offer a sip but if you refuse i will not be offended. And a classy fellow like me will drink srtaight from a cask as quite often I forget my pillow so a back up pillow is always stored in the esky, as well as the compressor is at close reach to inflate the pillow once the fancy top shelf wine is consumed from the cask.
