We were one of a number of campers who took off on friday for the long weekend at Somerset Dam. Not to bad friday and saturday morning, however looking at the forecast on saturday morning we decided to call it. Managed to get home and put the CT up in the garage - drying out. Good to get the canvas wet every now and then.

Feeling sorry for the others who decided to stay on.

Keep safe!

I'm in SEQ having about as un-fun a time as you can imagine, trying to sort my wife's Apple time capsule and also trying to get everything off my laptop and onto our windows fkn 8 craputer ...... I think I might go out to the shed :-)  If I can work out where the "show us ya shed" thread is I'll post a pic.....  ???

I guess it would be less fun with the flooding and tornados

I had 45mm overnight and had about that so far today.  The wind has picked up from about lunchtime as has the rainfall.  I drove down the CTA Canungra meet this morning only to find them all gone and the Coomera R up by 1.5mtrs ... Logan R is up to the picnic ground under the rail bridge at Yatala ... I'm on a hill so coping the wind and rain ... I have never experienced flooding here ... but it might be interesting getting to work on Tuesday if this keeps up.

I've heard Kilcoy and Esk are cut off.

Thank to the 4WD Qld Alerts on FB:
Woolooga (north of Gympie) is flooded.

Springbrook Road near Austinville Road is a no go zone.

Thanks to Oz Cyclone Chasers on FB:

And there are unconfirmed reports of a tornado around Mooloolaba.  Those in the Bribie area could be next to experience these tornado's.

The QPS are asking that we stay home.  If we are driving TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON, but they would rather you didn't drive at all.  And this most important one:  IF IT'S FLOODED, FORGET IT

We've had over 250mm of rain at Highfileds, north of Toowoomba, since Thursday.  The ground is saturated and water tanks full.  A lot of run off onto the road now.  It's still raining.

I tipped about 95mm out of the rain guage this morning ( 5:00pm yesterday until 10:00am today) & it's filling agian. That's here in Sth Grafton up on the hill. I was down at Iluka on Friday arvo at mum's & had to take her down to do some shopping. We were talking to some oldies & a bloke from the SES & they were saying how much in common this pattern has with the pattern that produced the floods in 1974. I can remember where the water came to at home, but not the lead up( only that it was wet). It will be interesting to see what happens when the next ex cyclone comes South.

Only damage for us is the wet toilet roll mentioned earlier and our TV ariel seems to be stuffed now. :'(

Lots of boats have broken mooring lines or dragged anchors, with 3 i know sunk, one is in a park on the esplanade and lots pushed during the high tide onto the flats, including the Lady Woodward. Shes stuck and listing a little.

No campers or CT's as far as the eye can see here.

We'll be cut off until tomorrow, as Coondoo is 1.2 metres over the bridge.

Well, after reading the posts of the people up north, don't think I'll complain about the rain we camped in at Wombeyan caves last night. Hope everyone is safe up that way.

Currently flooded in on Gympie Southside and likely to be this way for a few days yet, Mary River has backed up the creek in the only street out of where we are (sister in laws house) and we have no way out. Power went out at 5.00 a.m this morning and is still out now, Energex said it'd be back on at 5.30 p.m first up then changed it to 11.00 p.m, but I'll be surprised if it's on when I wake in the morning, as they'll be struggling to get access around here anywhere with the amount of flooding that has happened.

It's 4:30 am and been stuck in floodwaters in the middle of nowhere since 10pm last night. Stuck south of Beaudesert can't go forward or back. Gone for a few drives with others in a few 4wds  to check but still too deep to try, it's an ocean out here. There's snakes and spiders all over the roads trying to get away.

Cheers

As expected, no power on this morning yet. Mary River has risen substantially over night so we won't be going anywhere for days yet. I woke thinking it was raining heavy here this morning, but it was just the sound of the river rushing down stream.
