Hmm, 3m out, that is good. I've slept under mine in torrential rain and at 2.4m long and I think 2m wide there's not a lot of overhang above my swag.

I love my Foxwing, worth every cent i spent on it.
I bought 2 walls/extensions too.

it's been used more for shade than for rain

We love our foxwing too. Provides great shade and protection. Also keeps the fridges shaded in the back.

No worries mate,
I did look at the supapegs, and they were great! But I only had the cash at the time for the standard post one and I am a little lazy.
So I went with the cheaper/quicker option.

Just remember though, as soon as you get the awning  Mr Trackabout we need photos!!  ;D

Evo, the roof rack's at the powder coaters but will be sure to have pics up as soon as possible

I got mine from a bloke in brisbane, he has a 4wd shop though Im not sure what it's called.
I paid $185 for mine and its brilliant.
The biggest selling feature for me wasn't the price, it was the fact that all the other awnings I had seen only had plastic hinges for the legs.
Mine are alloy.

It seriously takes around 30sec to put up and maybe 2 mins to pack away.
If your interested let me know and I will pm you his phone number

Cheers

Just got off the phone with Matt at Supapeg and he's droppin one of these out this arvo (except the patrol) wouldn't want one anyways  Thanks again all!

My neighbour has an ARB awning on his work van which has failed on him so I recommended Supapeg.

A couple of small zip ties will fix the missing tags and they
don't rattle.

Or a bit of rope/corp. Tie it in a loop ND larks head it on.
No rattle. Lasts ages. No sharp bits.

I like the Hannibal ones the best but they are also pretty expensive. Heavy duty canvas and no poles.

Another vote for the Hannibal ones. They had one set up at penrith camping show. It was the only one left up in the winds, very impressive.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

As promised ladies and gentleswaggers'  Spent my Australia day fitting my all Australian roof awning... Love it, its out in the yard getting rained on now, we'll call it seasoning??.. Also fitted the ARB roofrack I pulled off a week or so ago to be powder coated "Trackabout Aztec Silver of all colours" Looks great!

Had a bit$h of a time as one of the roof rail nuts dropped into the roof (internal) could not get to it from the inside..  Not happy.. Then the thread stripped out.. By then all of Moss St was all looking at Trackabout wondering who was getting assaulted in the workshop. So there I was fishing it back up through a 8mm hole and trying to hold it there as I mounted the rail (with all my 15 hands)... Being a fitter by trade you think I'd have this done in seconds however I think sitting behind a computer all day has taken it's toll..

Anyways I wish I had progress photos, however I found my phone over the road after I had finished... Next time I'll give ARB a call   Dave

That looks great Dave.

Is that the normal height of the work lights on your rear wheel carriers?

Paul at Cockatoo Canvas makes an awning that needs no legs.. Hes tested it driving with it setup on the side of the car upto 80kph without issue.

Im waiting for a great invention of awning that needs no roofrack.

I'd love a foxwing - by far the best idea.
