cad program help?
« on: January 12, 2013, 11:16:16 AM »
Hey guys I asked in my build thread, but im hoping someone can help me with using auto cad or sketch etc etc.
It is all wayyyy over my head.

Is there someone that can run me through it or even better draw a design up for me? ;D ;D
I have done what I want on paint but need to transfer it over to a cad program so I can make a start on it.

Cheers

First off, what are you designing/drawing??
Second, I use AutoCad, Microstation and Smartplant and therefore should be able to help ;D

Hi Doc,

I am designing a new camper. Change of situation means that i need something more "young child" friendly.
I have drawn up a rough idea of the design on paint, but have no idea on how to get that onto a cad program.

Incompatible files.

I'm assuming you have AutoCad? If so, which version? You can email me the paint sketch and I can quickly draw it the send you the .dwg file to finish off if you wish.

Nope I have a free version a sketchup, that I was using to try.
I REALLY have no idea what Im doing with this.  ??? I can purchase autocad if it's easier to use than sketch up?
It would be a huge help if you could give me a starting point.  ;D :cup:

Not familiar with "sketchup" as to a start point (I'd say the drawbar -  ;D ;D) but look at some of the tutorials or alternatively, I could "start" it for you in an Autocad file which again according to their site their program is file trasfer compatible.
