Just before going to Fraser I thought I would modify the
Ram Nexus Cradle with the
Suction Cup mount as it blocked a bit of the view and was a reach to move the map. I think if i went with the longer arm it might be ok.
After a bit of playing around I ended up bolting the arm to an ordinary cork sanding block which fitted perfectly into the din pocket under the radio. Worked a treat and didn't' move a mm with 10 days of bouncing over Fraser.
I liked that it moved the screen out of my view and was easy to take a quick look at when needed. Easy to reach to scroll map or check distances.
Also after reading Cyberess's tablet
setup guide i switched over to
Orux Maps. With the Hema Fraser topo map Orux worked a treat and I must say I never went back to Ozi Explorer.
Very happy with the Nexus. Used the
CoPilot app for on road and with Orux for off road I couldn't have asked for anything else. Great combo.
On a side note I used a
Micro USB to USB connector and the
Nexus Video Importer on my sons tablet so he could watch episodes of Malcolm in the Middle without using the limited hard disc space. I was able to download every season and store on a usb storage device and copy over to tablet season at a time when needed.
