Water Container For Coleman HOD
« on: December 14, 2012, 12:38:31 PM »
Has anyone purchased here in Australia a water container with the large opening on one side for the Coleman HOD  pump to fit in and inlet valve on other side of container for the return hose.Non at Bunnings or BCF.Im going to get the Reliance Aqua Tainer from the US but thought i would try here first.Or would it be easier to drill a hole on the container that they sell here and place a capped inlet into. The one from the US is $28 delivered which i didnt think was to bad.Pictured

Cannot help you with that one, but do you really need one?  We just use a normal bucket.

Me too, but more so a large plastic container... works well and it doubles as our clothes washer...

I can get 20 litre plastic drums exactly the same as these from the local carwash for $2. So maybe try yours and see if they have any.
Fair enough they need a good wash out and time to drain and dry but They only hold car wash so there shouldnt be a problem.

Cheers Nomad.

the 20 litre plastic jerry cans at Supercheap have the same thread on the top as the thread on the Coleman pump. simply lay the jerry on its side and the pump works fine.

we have the plastic one from coleman, that folds down flat, which is good when space is limited. Didnt know about the supercheap jerry can, as have one of those as well, will have to try that.

We also just use buckets of water when heating water if we dont use the plastic container. Depends upon how much space and $$$ you have.
