PICKING UP CAMPER
« on: December 10, 2012, 05:25:12 PM »
Got a phone call today from Terry, the owner of Central Coast Campers.

My new camper is ready to be picked up this Saturday morning. Can't wait.

One help question if I may. What insurance company does everyone use. I have been doing a little research, but all seem pretty similar

Mate, I just added mine to my car insurance policy.  Think it was around the $240 mark for a $16k policy.

Great news about the CT being ready for pickup.  Look forward to seeing some photos.

I use CIL as i found with my existing insurer for the car once i mentioned that it has soft walls they did not want to know about it

I have found CIL to be a good mob if they did cars i would move the prado over to them as well

Great news Shakey. Well worth the wait I bet. I'm just round the corner from them will watch you take off with it (ok so not that close but close enough). Spoke with Terry a few times. Great guy.

Really looking forward to your pics.

Cheers
James.

Oh to answer you question I went with CIL.

Congrats on the new camper, sleepless nights till pickup  ;D

We looked at CIL and NRMA. Turns out with loyalty discounts NRMA came out cheaper. As it is built as an off road trailer it is insured anywhere in Australia (on and off road) as is the Cruiser.

Also if I have an accident with the trailer on it is a single excess if it is my fault (not that I intend on testing that).

Thanks for all the tips. I've contacted a number if companies and asked many questions. Ended up going with AAMI, cheaper than CIL.

$380 for $22000 agreed value

Picked up camper and set it up in backyard. 15 minutes and I could have been in bed. Took a while to set up all annex and floor, but will get quicker with practice

Yes tent is big. Have smaller annex for when travelling. Larger one for extended stays of which I do once or twice a year for ten days or so. Plenty of space and plenty of comfort.

Can't wait for first use in January down Kiola way
