Hi All - CT n00b here!!
« on: October 13, 2012, 10:39:23 AM »
Hi All

Whilst being a member of a couple of 4wd forums for some years, having purchased a camper trailer, it's time to widen my horizons. I've been lurking for some time and looking at mods etc and getting ideas and a wish list.

After borrowing the trailer from some friends for a couple of years, we've taken the plunge and bought it. The CT in question is a 2006 Lifestyle Explorer; it has a 12' tent, annexe walls and the complete 'back' room which we make use of as we usually take up to 8 kids! It has the flash kitchen with the 2 burner stove built in.

We've bought it more or less standard, but it came with pretty much all the kit needed for a trip in it already. First planned mods are a water pump, some LED lighting and a rewire as while it has the battery and two cig plugs, I'd like to set it up with a proper electrical fuse/junction box and wire in the 600W inverter that came with it and a 240V smart charger.

I look forward to learning a lot here and hope that I can contribute with my knowledge of 4wd's, particularly GQ and GU Patrols.

Welcome to the Forum....there are a lot of very knowledgable and experienced people on this forum so don't hesitate to do searches regarding your extra kit, or to ask questions...and have fun in the electrical section  ;D

PS...you need to post some pics of your camper and car.

Well, we've taken delivery of the trailer, so it's at home with the mod list growing every day!

We took it on a maiden voyage in early December to Imbil which was unfortuantely cut short by my appendix deciding it was going to play up - this is despite the fact that APPARENTLY it got taken out in Feb 2008! But that's another story!

The trailer is at home; still sorting out insurance, rego transfer and other ancillaries but great to have it home! The only thing better is taking it out, after I've made up some LED light strips and fitted the water pump and electrical junction box with the great instructions from you blokes (and girls!!)

And yes, I'll post up some pics when I'm not at work!
