Beaches of Byron anyone stayed there?
« on: September 27, 2012, 02:16:57 PM »
I am so shocked, happy and sooooooo excited that we are able to get away this weekend! It's been far too long between camping trips and we managed to find Beaches of Byron that have plenty of unpowered camp sites! Has anyone stayed there? We weren't able to book, they said there is plenty of unpowered sites and they don't take bookings for them, but they can guarantee us a site.

So has anyone stayed there?

I drive past there regularly, just to be clear it's not in Byron, prob 3ks out of town near Suffolk park. Also appears more of a backpacker type campground with the wicked/juicy crew there a lot, wich is ok as its prob cheap. Byron shire is pretty passionate about movin on camper vans.
On the upside, near tallows beach which will be sheltered with ne wind this weekend, close to Suffolk park pub, right end of Byron to bail to Lennox markets on Sunday and away from Byron itself and the grubby backpackers... Hope that helps a bit

Byron will be mayhem at the moment. So lucky this place is out of it. I went for a wander around it and it looks ok but havent stayed there.
Your in the middle of Tallows Beach so watch your kids like a hawk if you let them in the surf. Big rips and current on that part of the beach.

As per previous posts get down to Lennox or Broken Head or up to Brunswick Heads to the pub for a feed.

Cheers Nomad.

Yeah I expect there to be lots of backpackers etc. as long as they don't bother us I'll be happy :) another couple is meeting us there so hopefully we can get a site together. I've found some reviews online of the park and they are not so great, however it's main,y about grubby amenities etc and we have our own so hopefully that won't bother us anyway
