Jamboree who's going
« on: September 24, 2012, 07:51:43 AM »
My eldest is headed off to the australian jamboree in January. I know there are a lot of people involved in the scouting movement here, so who's headed to the jamboree and where are you camped at.
My son's name is Logan age 12 from 1st Mannering Park NSW, they will be camping in the desert and their troop emblem is the hairy lama.

I would have thought there would be more as well, although the Jamboree is not exactely cheap (although good value for the length of time).

We have 15 days with no daughter. Wahoo

sandman,

Know the feeling, we have 15 Scouts and 4 Leaders going. I wouldn't go as a Leader, sounds like WAY too much hard work :D

Not sure how many are the troop as it is made up of a couple of groups with at least 4 leaders.

We looked at the cost but then broke it down to $150 a day including travel, food activities ect it didn't seem to bad for the 10 days + the 2 days each way to get to and from. Although I'm glad I only have 1 going. Also the scout group had been fundraising since the last jamboree to help out with funds, so that we didn't have to pay the full $1500.
