G'day
« on: September 23, 2012, 12:09:26 AM »
Hi all,

After months of looking at this great site and all of the fantastic information, I thought I should finally join.

Had long service leave a few years back and hired a motorhome and drove to Darwin. Great trip and after spending a lot of time chatting to people with camper trailers and checking them out, we decided to buy our own. Also after years of tent camping (and 22 years in the Scouting Movement - hence the nickname), we decided that it would making the camping experience easier with the kids and introduce them to the great outdoors.

Our camper is nothing too fancy, a Market Direct Offroad Camper, nice easy entry level camper (with a few mods already - thanks to the MySwag site) to tow behind the Ford Territory. Just sticking to caravan parks and DEC camp sites for now (liking the creature comforts!) and easing the family into it.

Have had a few great trips in it so far and really just working out what suits us.

Best of all we are outside and having fun!

I look forward to hopefully contributing something useful!

Cheers

Scout.

Hi Scout,

10 years ago my better half took me and the kids camping kicking and screaming. Smart enough to pick somewhere with hot showers and toilets. 10 years on Iam the camping nut and will now compromise on the creature comforts!!!!!

You are definitely going about it the right way
